Christmas Mannequins
Like sunrain
like Summer snow
like indoor fires in
the Winter cold
like icecream
made from almondmilk
while loved ones carve
some undead elk
as the birds fly
to some better clime
wish we could follow
the starlings' lead
but here we sit
unwrapping gifts
our trinkets shine in the glow
as the world burns.
