Bluest of Skies2
The bluest of skies
I saw her last month playing in the park
Her laughter brought light to my dark
I will always remember the joy in her ocean eyes
bluer than the bluest of skies
I saw her last week with mom's new guy
The tight grip on her arm made her cry
I will always remember the pain in her eyes
The bruises that replaced her bluest of skies
I did not see her this week in her usual spot
But I did see mommy with a needle and heroine shot
She said the kid is fine, and many more lies
To brush me off so she can close her eyes
I saw her tonight on the Television screen
She died when he smothered her scream
I will never forget the plight in those ocean eyes
That were once bluer than the bluest of skies
