Real One
"Thinking 'bout my old dude, what we had to go through
Walls around me, let my guard down, then he finally broke through
Said I was his Honey Brown, wrote me a few poems too
Did my Bible reading with him just because I chose to
Oh he's lucky he had a real one
He's lucky he had a real one
I'm loving what we have, just scared of that commitment
Why do we have to label it? Can't we just wing it?
Our noses touch, we're almost there but, I just can't kiss him
In the end he's all up in his head, he just got things so twisted
I am unable, to have him stressing my mind
I say all the time, he's not patient
Upset all the time, I say all the time
He's lucky he had a real one
He's lucky he had a real one
Thinking 'bout my old dude, what he 'bout to go through
He said that he shed no tears - that's a lie, we both knew
Said it just to spite me, I know just what he gon' do
Next girl gon' be just like me, the one he gon' get close to
Oh I bet that she ain't a real one, and yes he knows that
Coz she ain't got that spiritual gem, so she's got no chance
But moving on is surely gon' take a minute
He gon' feel low, and then what we had - he's gonna miss it
Flipping the switch between hate, and reminiscing
'Bout the only one who opened his eyes to love's definition
Trusting no women, he'll wish he had no feelings
And as the days turn into years he'll see me fade into the distance
I am unable, to have him stressing my mind
I say all the time, he wasn't patient
Upset all the time, I say all the time
