THE MYSTERY GIRL
What is she made of?
None of this sugar and spice stuff
In a fairy tale land story
A hundred years ago
Was a soft-hearted gal once
She wants the boy downtown to drag her out of her pathetic shell
Rid her of her hard glare
For miles of tough love if that's what it takes
As balloons pop in the thinnest air in the sky
Nothing breathes
Neither will her dirty clothes she has worn all these years
She's got these jagged edges
From the knives of life sliced through her fragile sores
Her skin is leather and demeanor has taken that of a wild beast
