THE LONELY HOURS

She has not slept in days
Her prison keeps her at bay
Weeping as her heart allows
Is it all in her head or is she losing herself?
She has sunk in the trenches of the darkness where the demon prowls
The hours are seconds
The days are minutes
The years have been forgotten in the speck of time
I do not remember where they went
Did they really happen?
The years blur by her in a dream well kept
A comatose body with a wandering soul
Day after day
Step after step
Where her heart thumps in the empty space it rents
For the loneliness fills her days
For how long?
Is it a matter of her mind to set itself free?
