What is life?
What is life?
From far and wide that question resounds
Like the chiming of the morning clock
In the dark where the dawn has yet to break
That question howls across minds with the fury of a thousand winds it sounds.
And for all the pride that the brightest minds bestow in their intellect
They have yet to answer that one question
Along with every other mystery that is yet to be solved
And new ones each day we detect
Curious by nature we question
The past, the present, the future
For fear of the unknown we forsake revolution and evolution
We feel safe with what’s common
We have grown accustomed to where we are
We have grown comfortable and are scared of what can disturb
The frail balance of an already degrading and self-destructing race
Fear the impartial judgment of a higher power
So we choose to feign ignorance
And hope that what comes back around won’t be able to keep pace
But it all comes down to the same question
What is life?
Life is a spark
Life is a gift
Life is beauty
Life is a fire that burns bright
But like all fires,
Life’s flames grow dimmer with time
Life burns out and ends
Life is pain
Life is strife
Life is strain
Life is unforgiving
Life is unapologetic
Life is a burden
Life is a curse within a blessing or a blessing within a curse
Life is a constant question.
Life is the decisions we make
Life is maze of endless twists and turns
A constant fork in the road with two unchanging possibilities
What is right and what is easy
Then again life is the little things
Life is the cold embrace of the morning mist
Life is the first rays of sun in the morning
Life is the smell of the rain drenched grass
Life is a mother’s hug
Life is a lover’s smile
Life is but a mirror that aligns with what is inside
Life is a reflection of our inner most selves
Life is not the situation you are in
Life is how you act upon it
Life is constant, unwavering and merciless
Life is neither bad nor good, it simply is
Life is a choice, make the right one.
