My Old Friend Music
Always loved music
From the heady days of vinyl to digital
I’ve heard it’s magical call
Whispering to my soul
The soundtrack to my dreams
Songs from a bygone era
Pulsing through my senses
Became old friends that never left
The angst of punk
The beat of funk
My world grew with each new genre
Plugged into headphones
The reality faded away
This is how I’ve coped
Music is my addictive mistress
All these years later
My love of it has not diminished
It feeds the void
Calms me like a lover
When I need comfort
From the heady days of vinyl to digital
I’ve heard it’s magical call
Whispering to my soul
The soundtrack to my dreams
Songs from a bygone era
Pulsing through my senses
Became old friends that never left
The angst of punk
The beat of funk
My world grew with each new genre
Plugged into headphones
The reality faded away
This is how I’ve coped
Music is my addictive mistress
All these years later
My love of it has not diminished
It feeds the void
Calms me like a lover
When I need comfort
