Some truth

Depression,
can engulf you,
She will gently stroke your face
Convince you you’re unhappy
Because you go to an empty home
alone everyday

She will tell you,

“It’s your world do what you want do!”

Until you lay there at night and realize
No one’s there…but you
She can make you forget about your job,
and about your life,
family and kids
Depression as a result of loneliness
we have all seen how those lives
end
Depression and loneliness,
Can make you take drugs
just to get to an altered state
That’s just a quick antidote
when the high is gone
You will once again be alone

We all experience loneliness
Haven’t met one single person that doesn’t
But when my depression kicks in and

ALONENESS

TAKES

OVER

(breathe)

This depression
that eats at the inside of me
it’s just an emotion it’s a fleeting thought
A feeling that will soon be gone

I recite that mantra and try to
regain my control
I have to stop the panic attack
Can’t let this anxiety take hold
I understand my war
my depression
and I know I will never
Truly be in control
