Sow (Homonym)
Upon a time, like aged tales told
a Barbarian in his (prime) time
while rumors of demise unfold
learned how to be a Prince
shedding crude, crass and cold
ruled compassionately, fair.
The time has grown constructing;
the man, armed with care and wit
became a sage instructing
as teacher, mentor, student nit.
Allow me, only to submit. . .
In our infant stages
ignorant and selfish we appear
to discerning eyes, caged;
(while) self-aware, and yes, fear,
strengthens us until we’re fit.
Do not ask tomorrow
the Pupil’s glory
as for mere ego
but to make that story
for seeds you sow
today and now
are sole souls of
greatness and love
some other day
and days,
anyhow.
