Contentment
Contentment comes and goes and so do I:
I come to you and go down on my knees;
And sometimes go to you until I sigh
To come and come again, after I've pleased;
When the entire house is dark; I light
My own black need with a soft tread to find
You'll hold me; when you have me in your sight,
Your hand around my throat serves to remind
That though I need no aide-memoire, gentle force
Shows I belong to you in every way:
If ownership affords you due recourse
To put me through my paces, then I'll play
The whore who finds your demands heaven sent;
And these fulfilled, of course, leave one content.
I come to you and go down on my knees;
And sometimes go to you until I sigh
To come and come again, after I've pleased;
The whore who finds your demands heaven sent;
And these fulfilled, of course, leave one content.
