Embers to Ash
Why agitate the embers?
Now turned to ash,
Consumed,
Greyed forever to dust by the demise of the sun.
The hole will never hit the head,
Never heal a close,
Never the bitter stone bite,
Will ache again.
White hot pain severs,
Claws it's path and catches the throat,
But you'll never know,
The damage.
So drift,
Continue my friend,
Make waves where you will,
This boat will never again touch the shore.
For we didn't,
You and I,
Didn't belong,
By each others side.
So tread lightly and go now,
Embers to ash,
Turned dust which flies,
A new lease of life.
After all,
Healed,
We didn't belong.
Together.
