Knowing what I’ve done

Believed you know about me.

Allow the pain
Of betrayal to finally breathe

Everything...
Including,
And most importantly,
Your love.
The kind of death
I cannot bear.

No, I’ll take this to the dirt…
And in the interim
It will cut me in half.
Permanently
Sentence me beneath

And beneath the brightest of skies
I will ache each morning
A slow, penetrable decay.

Why I did it
