ALONE on ALERT
I’m gonna have to work all
Freakin’ night, I bet!
It’s 0145HRS – why ain’t I sleepy yet?!
Very boring, this Supply Point place
Working at night (SAC ALERT)
Castle Air Force Base!
My dept., during the day –
Bench Stock doesn’t work
At night.
12 hour shifts, off and on,
Nothing’s gained – nothing’s won.
The Alert’s gonna last a week
I’ve heard;
I don’t effin care –
Still so absurd.
Silly lil’ (war) game
day after day
Practicing for war
everyday
more of the same.

Today
Tomorrow
everyday
a Practice war &
nothing’s won.

All Strategic Air Command (SAC) & Tactical Air Command (TAC) Bases play pretend war during peacetime and wartime. I think it's an Air Force thing.
They always tell You it's real but everyone knows it ain't but sometimes if feels soooo real.
