the robin in our garden
the red robin sits alone in a garden
simply safe between wonderful wings
she perches with thin tender legs
at the end of a green hedge
standing out so beautifully like a flame
a orange friendly flicker fluttering away
she is a butterfly caught in plain view
hiding so i could no longer see the red robin chest
maybe she was self conscious and shy
so she scurried away like a little mouse
scared of being noticed
scared of being found
her chest burns boldly like bronze
a fire for all to see
nestling against the cushiony caring leaves
then hiding inbetween
the red red rosey robin
against the shrub in the garden
i wander how she feels
and does she feel free?
simply safe between wonderful wings
she perches with thin tender legs
at the end of a green hedge
standing out so beautifully like a flame
a orange friendly flicker fluttering away
she is a butterfly caught in plain view
hiding so i could no longer see the red robin chest
maybe she was self conscious and shy
so she scurried away like a little mouse
scared of being noticed
scared of being found
her chest burns boldly like bronze
a fire for all to see
nestling against the cushiony caring leaves
then hiding inbetween
the red red rosey robin
against the shrub in the garden
i wander how she feels
and does she feel free?
