Moonlight*
(Listening to Kisses in the Moonlight-George Bensen)
My eyes were
Too busy feasting upon
All the thing we might have
Become to each other over time
Under differential stars taken up
By a receding skyline
Comforting the elements of
Presumption and surprise
So delicately like fall
Upon deafened hearts
Shuddering in the trees from
Seeing the moonlight
By way of courtyard
For the very first time
Dabbing some sense of belonging
Behind ears;
Their crevices now able to-
Articulate themselves.
