One Hit Wonders
At first glance there are bands out there that people think only have one hit then never give them another chance. A good example, a band worth mentioning is P.O.T.U.S.A. Yeah lump was good but please give some postman the light of day. Then another that's complaining that's not raining. That one was Shannon Hoon. It sucks that the good ones die to soon.There is one hit in particular I want to address, the song is catchy but really kind of pointless. Hey non blond what's up with empty cries of revolution? Preaching a message that one doesn't understand is not a as solution. It's kind of sad that discussing important topics has become just another fad.
On the other hand, I like music that is vague enough to be open up for interpretation, while others are still entertained by songs about ex girlfriends and masturbation. With other genres all I'm hearing is annoying screaming, not even trying and if I told you I knew what they are saying I would be lying.

When I reference "Some Postman" it's another song by P.O.T.U.S.A. the anagram stands for Presidents Of The United States of America, a band from the 90's.

I hold to a theory on this and the application can extend to writers / poets.
My theory is one of composing (writing) ONE PIECE THAT EVERYONE KNOWS WILL SUCK IN THE MASSES OF THE POP AND OR GENERAL EARTH PUBLIC and then once microscopic fame achieved,
start (too soon?)
to be individual and creative...........and then seemingly fall into the abyss of ...........
I told a poet who put his ink online for sale
that if he didn't change the structure and line spacing
only his followers would purchase.
He gave me a large piece of his mind and now
we rarely chat.
Anyways, it's a theory I have about this touchy subject.
O, and BTW, I fondly remember many pieces from POTUSOA. Afterall, I have a huge eclectic taste in music.
