You should not have to drop expectations because you're tired of being disappointed. Don't cry. It's not your hurt. Don't let yourself despise your own anger. You need to be angry until you are seen. You deserve to be wanted. You don't have to submit because you are afraid. be bold. Say what you need. I need you to care. I need you to follow through with what you say. I need you to stop fucking drinking. I need you to better me, and listen when I want to better you. Fuck need. I want. Because I don't need you. I won't give you that power. I find it ironic. You chose the path that people need you the most in. To fix them. I don't need to be fixed, but I still want to know that you would take the time if I'm collapsing. I feel like I am, but maybe we just are. are you ever going to listen? or just wait for the undeniable sound of me dropping. I have given you this part of me and you set it on the shelf. you tell it nice things as it collects dust day after day until everything is blurry. Until I'm depressed from layers of weight that you never carried. It just sat and I'm crumbling underneath it. There's only so much patience, there's a lot, but also a line that you have been tiptoeing. Love should not make me a dirty, untouched thing that even I, myself questions the worth within it. It's well past time for change. I'm changing my depth of grace, hoping you can stand above it.
