Transparent Adhesives
Old man,
How have you managed to keep your sanity
among all the unjust happenings of your past?
Old man,
How have you held on to a lil' purity
(&) how did you manage to make your smile last?
You've made your soul transparent
Your heart, an open policy.
Burned, stabbed, or used - apparent
and still you did not change.
Old man,
You don't seem any older in Spirit
than say, 2 or 3 centuries ago;
You still play with elders and children
And you still comfort those of us in woe.
Though you stayed greatly strange,
Your eccentricity, we've all admired.
The fire still in you, makes us want to Change
And your love makes us inspired!
How curious it is,
that you refuse to burn your bridges
And your enchanted adhesives
make us keep you in mind!
What is the source of your strength
that never ends out of your soul;
And how do you forgive and love
those that transgress against you?
How do you do these unnoticed things?
How have you done this, all?
We seem to need to know.
Old man,
Old man that never ages,
don't ever stop.
don't ever stop your changes,
For we need more ----
of your kind.
