Absurd

My life is insignificant, All my actions are perversely ill,
No act I do, no thought I forge, is of good measure,
My essence treads in illness,
The cancerous corruption only weakens my soul by the day,
yet I seek no aid,
I prefer to rot in my own dying flesh,
Then to seek for any helping hand,
If only I had the courage, if only I had the will,
To enter a dark room, to seal the hollow closet,
to take the leap of twisted, distorted faith,
Where I am certain to confront my true self in the agora.

I believe in no God, when as he ever been good?
When has he ever been of help?
If eternity means to forgo those who do not believe here,
If eternity means the death of those who do not do “right”,
If eternity means to judge,
If eternity means to be only only one right,
I’d rather die in hell,
I’d rather rot for eternity,
I’d rather become satan himself,
I’d rather not see god again,
I’d rather be alone.

Why do bad things happen to good people?
Who is good?
What is good?
What makes you better than they?
Why would you say that the simple hard working man,
Who cheats on his on morals,
Who professes to be christian,
Who only acts for selfish reasons,
Who walks to enrich himself,
Who looks only after those he deems worthy,
Who forsake their own call to adventure,
Who forsake their own duty of privy,
Who believe that if they are at peace, the world is at peace.

Tell me what is good and I’ll show you your “good” deeds.

My hypocrisy proceeds me,
My facade controls me,
My nature has me strung up,
My own selfish soul has me enslaved.
Yet, I’d prefer it no other way.

Miracles don't occur,
Lives are not saved,
People don't magically change,
In this world where emotion supersedes logic,
Where feelings are superior to philosophical thought,
Nothing exists for a reason,
Nothing is said, with meaning.

God can’t save,
God won’t save,
God won’t save the child from the clutches of the perverted priest,
God won’t save the girl from the grip of her uncle,
God won’t save the woman from he who she most trusted,
God won’t save the disenfranchised from the business man,
God won’t save the marginalized from the mainstream masses.

Why?

God didn’t save the Indian from the white man,
God didn’t save the Africans from the slave trade ships,
God didn’t save the sick from the bubonic plague,
God didn’t save the Jew from the German,
God didn’t save anyone,
No matter their background, no matter the race,
There is truly one thing that makes us equal,
And that is, with God or no god, we don’t care about our neighbor,
We don’t sacrifice what we don’t have for our enemy.
