Talking Glass
“be quiet, the glass is talking”
whispering reflection
I’m hungry for the truth
not ready to believe
what the mirror has to say to me
a broken masterpiece
a perfect storm
she told herself she was good enough
the mirror smiled
and told her otherwise
I can’t believe what I see
this human being
withered away
but not yet free
the mirror isn’t listening
maybe I’m the one
who’s dead inside
this mirror isn’t broken
I’m just me
and the mirror laughed
whispering reflection
I’m hungry for the truth
not ready to believe
what the mirror has to say to me
a broken masterpiece
a perfect storm
she told herself she was good enough
the mirror smiled
and told her otherwise
I can’t believe what I see
this human being
withered away
but not yet free
the mirror isn’t listening
maybe I’m the one
who’s dead inside
this mirror isn’t broken
I’m just me
and the mirror laughed
