I Hope You're Happy

 
Fuck you!!!
but this is no way to start a poem, right?
I should stop scribbling this poem before I lose my sense of reason.
But you cut me so deep and all I bleed are these words;
words said in anger engraved on my soul. You could never handle my darkest truths and that’s why you walked away.
I’m dancing in the dark with your shadows between my arms
and all our memories fall out of love with each other.
The best things in life are free –
but your price tag was way out of my range.
I remember you with every breath I take, you’ll always have a piece of me –
maybe I can breathe without you,
maybe the pain won’t go away but it can dull.
I’m still coughing up water from the last time you let me drown.
Still waters run deep as the love runs dry.
I let you occupy every bit of me when I was nothing but a passing breeze to you,
but my mind drifts to everything but you.
I have no proof of your devotion or strings of emotion.

I loved you even when I didn’t love myself and yet you still chose to walk away.
There was once a time where I took your words as an oath engraved in stone
and yet here I lay on a heap of your lies
and fallen ‘forget-me-nots’ –
every sentence said laced with lies lost in loathed lipstick.
She loves me,
she loves me not,
she loves me,
she certainly loves me the fuck not.
You gave zero fucks when you took me to the place where the leaves fall at midnight
and rise at dawn
and left me there.
Clouds of memories fade in and out as they block the sun from my day and let dark shadows prance about.
I hope you’re happy.
