the castle

Once upon a time I built a castle
It was a thing of beauty
A fairy-tale like castle.
I built it stone by stone,
Ogive by ogive.
I made it tall,
It was caressing the skies.
It was MY beautiful castle,
It was a castle of dreams
every hall, every corner
was a dream,
A wish,
A hope.

You know,
Not so long ago,
I shattered a castle
It was beautiful
Like in those bed time stories
With all its halls and majestic rooms
Made from dreams and hopes.
I tear it down easily,
A push was enough.
Because from all the bricks in the world,
Dreams are the worst.
