Indomitable

A heart beating with determination
A mind that questions the days true intentions
A body divided in two
This is how I start every morning
Is today going to be a good or bad day?
For I am strong when I am weak
Yet my hands can’t gasp what's before me
My shoulders pop when I reach for the stars
My knees collapse as I try to take the next step
Each day I move forward while
My body takes three steps back
Trapped within myself
I feel the pain spreading
I've got to keep moving
There are people that count on me
I will not be defeated
A heart beating with determination
I smile to stay positive
As I laugh at the pain
I choose to move forward by changing the game
For I can not control it
Nor does it become my identity
We just have to live in harmony
