Fall in eternal regret

We wake up suddenly
when dream to precipitate
but yesterday I could not awaken
and continued to fall
in to the void

Then her hands gripped me
Her face was beaming
and the pallor of death
had left her cheeks

"Come on love," he pleaded
"little effort and you are safe
we will stay together
you and me, for eternity"

I tried
groping, fumbling
but ultimately lost the taking
and again the fall
in the icy darkness

I glimpsed her desperate face
away, lost forever
the story of my life
about special occasions I missed all

Paradise is not for people like me
the rest would be enough
eternal rest
for the poor wretches
like me and my sweet love
buried in eternal regret
