-In the Mouth of Madness-

(with all due respect to H.P. Lovecraft)

Alone in the mouth of madness, where meaning knows my owned end.
And, within this walled asylum, comes the mirror's reflection again.
Thoughts once steeled and imprisoned, come to feed on, we, the damned. For, its prism culls life and the colors of life's palette to be scattered amidst death's darkened sands.
And, returns this claimer of the conscience. Though, borne by a heart breached so deep.
Alas, forced to bleed beyond the path's gray, where memories, forgotten, still weep.
Through these mists of despair's desperation, finds a spirit seized from within.
Abandoned by the soul's excoriation and by the heroes all fallen to sin.
What more of loss shall Hell's winds demand? From birth unto death and between?
To which, leeward shelter is not to be found, nor bound by Heaven to glean.
Truth, is but first to sacrifice all, though bears not all to be suffered.
For, this Realm of Death was created in trust, though designed by false gods whom then plundered.
