Falling Softly
I'm tentatively peeking through the curtains
Waiting to let the light shine through
To get lost in your blue skies
And say all the things I want to say to you
I stress and I press trying to get these blessings
But I find solace the moment I see your face
You're just a friend, oh yes, just a friend
But you came at just the right time and place
Its easy like breathing southern country air
Your voice is a summer breeze blowing softly
And your body is a bed to lie in after a long hard day
Like slicing still water you ripple through me
I won't promise forever, no, we aren't that young and foolish
I won't shower you with musings and wishes of growing old
But each moment is timeless and leaves us both wanting more
Kissing, existing, falling, watching... seeing how this all unfolds
