Wendy, Why Give It Away?
Deep among the drunken theatre
Lonely, Wendy hugs the wall
Strangers shoot her lustful glances
Looking for the final dance
Wendy in her party dress
Like her love, she'll throw away
For promises of perfect passion
Tell her that the world's okay
Hoping for a taste of heaven
Flesh is weak as shadows fall
Pleasure when the Sun don't shine
Just maybe she can have it all
Today
Pass the glass and pour the liquor
Drink another, kill the pain
Soft whispers of sweet indiscretions
Flowers bloom in opal rain
Wendy and her party dress
Her dignity left by the door
As sweet love is ripped away
Soft petals spill upon the floor
Hoping for a taste of heaven
Flesh is weak as shadows fall
Pleasure when the Sun don't shine
And maybe she can have it all
Today
Sown the seed and drained the bottle
There's no illusions, no surprise
Since every lover's left her lonely
Love's confusion, no goodbyes
As the cold light tears the curtains
Her very heart, he's ripped away
No pleasure now the Sunlight shines
Left lonely on this bed again
Broken promises of passion
Flesh was weak as shadows fall
Pleasure when the Sun don't shine
No way she can have it all
Today
Wendy, why give it away?
