Wishing Stars

I wish that wishing on wishing stars worked,

I wish it were not worthless,

Because if wishing on wishing stars worked then there would be a million wishes worth while- enough to keep the wishing world working,

If I could wish,

I would want one wish,

Just one,

I would walk up to the wishing stars and wish to know; why.

And the wishing stars would know why.

If wishing on wishing stars was true, I would wish to know why,

Because why is the most important wish of all,

What why?

What why could I wish for?

The first why; the original, the break, the make, the answer,

Why?

Wish on that why, because that why is all the wish you will ever get.

why do we wish on wishing stars?

When all those wishes, wish to be heard,

Not by stars,

Not by smog, air, lights or empty rooms,

But to be heard,

By those who watch you wish and too, wish with you
