Hat Man (the unwanted guest)
The death on your face is cheap white grease and ugly black marker that carries a psychotic, bloodthirsty smile fragranced with the stench of insanity.
It appears as mere glimpses and dreams, both real and unreal.
Recessed in shadow, you watch me drift away from this world. As I pray, you prey.
Voices whisper through the hallways and seep in on a fog thick with poison and violence to penetrate the rest of the weary.
Fears feed your insatiable starving hunger and thirst for power.
The fangs you bear release a serpent's tongue that laps and drinks our miserable tears.
Crying out to God from behind our mountains of uncertainty, we seek His face to find forgiveness and peace.
Yet, there you stand at my bedside, snarling in menacing laughter while darkness overcomes with your desire to steal, kill and destroy.
