daydreaming

I stand and watch the crimson eyes
on the sand just passing by
like a child from the maroon sky

When I close my lids, time
stands still and space is diluted
like tripping over air, on a
hot elusive day in the field

Our maroon sky lights up even
the blackest of nights
like an angel outstretching
her aided caress

The test awaits us all, the
infants write their scripts upon
the wall of spacious downfall

I settle upon the ocean top,
slimy aliens dashing by, with
a flip and a flop of watery crop

The angel awaits me, behind
the gate, armed with the key,
and I will be ready
