Love is but a word

Love is but a word,
but I see it in your heart,
You give yourself to me,
without even a thought,

You clean; you cook,
and bare the birth of a child,
You take me to heavenly places,
with erotic smiles,

You pick up my clothes,
that I left here and there,
All the while you whispered,
for me a humble prayer,

From house to house,
and job to job you followed me.
You made each home a castle,
for me and the children to see,

When jobs were scarce and I was let go,
you worked to the lead,
You helped me overcome depression,
so I could again see,

The meals we eat are fit for a king,
prepared by your hands,
You help me become who I am
by listening to understand

When sickness beset me,
you stayed right by my side,
You nursed me back to health,
with tears in your eyes,

A helpmate you are,
that has made my life complete,
Love is more than words,
your actions have given it to me.
