Trust (sonnet)
I trust in my soft smile to help him ask
Himself what further action he desires;
It's clear that my intention is to mask
My reservations, lest my reserve mires
His aspirations with some mild revolt:
Quiet pleas for him to moderate his acts,
Or tone or mood to force him to a volte-
Face that he'd not wish for. It could tax
His credibility to compromise;
So, I'm inclined to surrender without
Those safe words others need, so no surprise
Affects their congress. I, in any bout
Of fucking, discipline or forced control
He may exert, will just entrust my soul.

It's clear that my intention is to mask
My reservations, lest my reserve mires
His aspirations with some mild revolt:
Quiet pleas for him to moderate his acts,
Or tone or mood to force him to a volte-
