Had He known What He knows now

Had he known what he knows now
he would not have opened up
Had he known that he would get hurt at a young age
he would have waited a bit longer
before entering loves territory
However if he knew the pain
He would have also known the joy
Meaning that he would
have tried harder to hold onto it
And worked harder on growing it.

Had he known what he knows now
He would have done some things sooner and with other things
he would have waited even longer
Had be known what he knows now
there are a few bridges he wouldn't have burned
because now he can't cross them
Had he known what he knows now
He would have let her walk past
instead of stopping her
and striking up a conversation.

Had he known what he knows now
He would know that things do get better
He would have taken another path
en route to recovery
He would forgive himself sooner
for wrongs he hasn't committed

Had he known what he knows now
He would have never Lived
He would have never Loved
He would have never Learned that

If you would have known then
What you know now
Then you would have never grown

Had he not have known pain
Then he wouldn't know compassion
Had he not known hurt
Then he wouldn't know how to heal
Had he not experienced life
Then he wouldn't be so full of life
He would have not grown
as much as he has today
