Mercy in the morning
Morning stay away,
let the day forget to break.
In perfect night.
Let her sleep.
But beyond sight, beyond the horizon, dawn is ready and stands in wait,
For the morning bird to sound it’s call.
For the stars to retreat.
For first light to bleed in the sky,
And look down upon her shape.
Let her sleep.
And you wish the day would just forget.
But you long for it to come,
for dawns advance to light with colours, and slumber to pass.
So she will wake.
So she will turn.
And she will smile.
And her eyes to yours, as close she slides,
with legs all around
let the day forget to break.
