Sinners

From the moment I met you
I despised you

We didn’t get along
We’d argue everyday
We’d be at each other throats
Trying to hold on
For another day

Our fingers firmly clasped
Around each other necks
Allowing only a tiny
Amount of air through

I wanted to take a knife
And slice into our flesh
So we could bathe in our blood
A holy sacrifice

How could two hearts of ice
Pump bright warm blood?

We were both sinners
Me an lying adulterer
And you a cruel thief

In your eyes I found a mirror
Which revealed a soul as black as mine
So I worshiped at your alter
And you prayed at mine

We drank the wine
And consumed each other
Committing sin after sin
Interwinding

Let’s wash ourselves in holy water
And dry off with tapestries
Lay on the steps
And allow the light shining thought the stain glass
To penetrate our skin

For all we have is this moment
Laying in each other arms
Before we’re plunged into hell
Where are souls will forever dwell

At least we’ll be together
Drowning in Satan flood

Despite all of our sins
We found ecstasy
In pain and suffering
