Little Broken Cog
Little Broken Cog
I am just a little broken cog in your big wheel
At least that is how you always make me feel
A small grain of hidden sand on a crowded beach
Telling me that everything is out of my reach
An unseen speck of dust underneath your bed
A second thought you stumble upon in your head
Love to you is just an illusion you show my heart
A game that you play upon me like an ancient art
Just something you find on the bottom of your shoe
When your friends are around I am someone you never knew
You ditch me at the drop of a crumpled paper hat
With one look you make me feel worthless stat
I am just a crushed dream you once playfully broke
Just a memory distant of the one you once spoke
