And even your makeup was afraid to touch your skin
lost your beauty from within'
a social scar too calloused for foundation Your mascara runs
Reflection like a lash that stings your eye
The blush that blew beneath your nose A tissue & a cry
In every selfie you were fake smiling
Highlight overtaken by darkness & duck lip dirt
Bronzer you wished made you golden
But you were pale
A tummy that shows upon your exhale
Sickness to be a filter
Snap out of it!
Would you crop your wrist or make a list of all the bullies you want to airbrush with bullets once you get to school?
How far would you go to be cool?
Can you tell someone they are beautiful when you are face to face
Can we put our phone down for a moment and just embrace
