just a ghost

She's sitting on a bench from across the street
Counting every face that's passing by
Tick-tock every second she's glancing at her watch
Every single day sitting on a bench from across the street looking at the birds in the sky
She's Waiting on a strangers hello
She's waiting on someone to share the smile
For the rest of her life she's waiting on someone to break the ice
People come and go
Friendly faces heading back home
She's slowly losing hope
She's waiting for someone to take her hand and take her home
But No one notices her because she's just a ghost
She has a lovely voice, everyday she sings a song
Hoping someone will hear her and sing along
Hoping someone will hear her sing and toss a coin
But her voice is fading with the wind
She's losing her courage to sing
People come and go
Friendly faces heading back home
She's slowly losing hope
She's waiting for someone to take her hand and take her home
But No one notices her because she's just a ghost
65 years
She has a lot of stories to tell
She knows every building, street poles, women and men
Sometimes she accompanies them to work
But no one notices she's there
At times she wishes she was dead
She doesn't know why
People come and go
Friendly faces heading back home
She's slowly losing hope
She's waiting for someone to take her hand and take her home
But No one notices her because she's just a ghost
Until yesterday she heard a strangers hello
He said ''I'm here to take you home
I cant wait to hear you sing your song
I cant wait to hear all the stories you have to tell''
A tear fell of her eye and she began to understand
Why
People come and go
Friendly faces heading back home
No one hear her sing
No one would listen
Because she's just a ghost
