the tail end
nothing like the swim of a rhino
through the veins of rapids
slaying ego and pretense
with a viruses net
for someone who enjoys suffering
i am a nurse’s worst
patient of zero backbone
as if the world were on my toe
as its tail slithers an exhale
its every last inch
filling me with want of a pillow
and the daze of haze...
i fumble to the keyboard
stumble upon its high shelf
clicking nothing but rhythms
like a cricket on a mohave lake
there’s not even a ripple
nor echo from my cave
where i lie like a fetus
and seek a vitamin shake
please forgive me
as i’ve vanished like a genie
leaving messy yesterdays
in need of a mop and a rake
through the veins of rapids
slaying ego and pretense
with a viruses net
for someone who enjoys suffering
i am a nurse’s worst
patient of zero backbone
as if the world were on my toe
as its tail slithers an exhale
its every last inch
filling me with want of a pillow
and the daze of haze...
i fumble to the keyboard
stumble upon its high shelf
clicking nothing but rhythms
like a cricket on a mohave lake
there’s not even a ripple
nor echo from my cave
where i lie like a fetus
and seek a vitamin shake
please forgive me
as i’ve vanished like a genie
leaving messy yesterdays
in need of a mop and a rake
