It is true , life is change : ( scenario )

Student : "O great Master , you say life is change"

Teacher : "Yes , that is the only constant"

Student : "And you have had me meditating
                  on my navel for a week , O great Master"

i like how you bring in questions for the reader to think about , and you certainly made me think . to be honest with you , i don't understand .. fashion norms, whats in trend .. one minute its normal mobile phones next minute its smart phones and all these up to date modern looking phones where you swipe your finger across the screen lol , what will it be next ... i can understand your questions and your points.. what is '' normal '' tho , it may have been the norm in the past to write letters to each other, now the norm is to text and skype , what is the definition of normal and why should something different be classed as '' abnormal '' or '' weird '' you got me thinking ..

Truthfully , this laptop is one of two concessions

I have made to what I call the new norm...

No cell phone *ever* , still wear black Levi's and

black T - shirts and hoodies , no car since I was 23 ,

( now 63 ) , no Ipod , *ever* , still have a walkman ,

no Twitter , no Facebook , never had a credit card  

until last year , debit card I got when I was 55 , so

basically I do not live in the modern world , but most

know that when they walk into my place and say it looks

like a museum , but that is my "normal" decor , then they

see my three legged iron Witch's cauldron from the 1700's

in the corner ( 2 feet across ) , and really begin to wonder

what time frame I am from , and am I *normal*...;)

I am proud of being a Pagan and Witch of the Old Ways ,

and live out of step with most of the world...

If that is reality , and the "norm" now...

you are welcome ! its a good thing to be different to the majority of people , it means you most probably stand out and who doesn't want to stand out , lol !!  that sounds interesting and i'd be intrigued if i walked into a house that looked like a museum ! everyone is different but difference is sometimes a good thing!  yes, facebook is probably the norm but i rarely use the site, seems silly to me , and i do not have a smart phone, just a normal mobile phone, i do not even like those modern phones...  i do not go with the fashion trend, whatever that may be , i just wear what i want to wear, and i do not even like the usual shops in places,
