Powerful energy  
transferring through me  
I wish I could control  
but I am only the carrion  
   
Sleeping black cities  
Roaming uneasy  
in the days of the dark  
are no longer free  
Searching for meaning    
abstaining from thinking  
holding your tongue  
afraid to express truth from within  
   
Being polite  
to not rock the boat  
afraid to expand  
in fear of being exposed  
How can you learn  
if you do not question?  
living your life  
for only your peers  
   
Honesty mistaken  
Jealousy well hidden  
and oddly enough,    
I'm proud to be me  
   
A voice from the shadows  
I echo the freedom  
of a mind unclosed  
and open to new meaning  
   
I forgo your illogical, emotional stillness    
and ego defense  
cast out your oppression  
let those who agree  
come now and join me  
   
Setting my course    
straight for the stars  
I do not seek out  
what will only come to me    
   
leave your reservations    
at the front door  
and in this moment    
we are one
