SUPREME UNDERSTANDING

GOD presents itself in a variety of forms
You don't have to conform to the norms
One book and one way to live everyday
GOD doesn't need interpreters to convey

They say to pray in order to brighten the way
I stopped thinking that way when Granny passed away
What's meant to be will be regardless of time on your knees
If GOD's going to bless you it'll bless you even when you don't sneeze

Believe whatever you need to believe to minimize your grief
For this world will continue to twirl and try to steal peace like a thief
Many will read what I scribe and cry out that it's "blasphemy"!!!
Yet how many of them would blast for me to save me from destiny

Very few, maybe you, so those are the only opinions of which I'd listen
Still don't assume that I'll consume what they're cooking in the kitchen
Everyone has their theory about the fury and wrath of the Supreme being woman or man
And I understand that what I'm saying goes against that for which many people stand

Yet a true friend will listen to me and will agree to disagree
While the holy rollies will judge and choose to forsake me
Thinking I'm some atheist dude because of my views
Stop it, I'm closer to agnogstic, and spirituality is what I choose
