Sleepy Moon

Standing at the window
Longing at the twilight;
Sunset splitting at the seams
Between dancing leaves
And Moonbeams

The evening breeze breathes secrets made of sighs
As stars are framed in darkness
And the day gives into night
Distant crickets whisper lullabies
While lovebirds hold each other tight

Sleepy moon
Please swiftly drift me
To the dreams that make me swoon
Fill my heart with tender thoughts of swaying to the tune
Under a starry sky in June

Sometimes the sunrise makes you cry
As silver fills the edges
Where the horizon meets the night
And soon we'll have to say goodbye
Please let me hold you in my eyes

Sleepy moon
Please swiftly drift me
To the dreams that make me swoon
Fill my heart with tender thoughts of swaying to the tune
Under a starry sky in June
