Broken by the Names of Flowers
Rose
Her name meant kind but she was more the kind to be blind
There may have been kindness at the start
But then she was the kind to bring cruelty to your heart
A love Smashed
Aster
Her name meant star but she was no bright light from afar
There may have been brilliance at the start
But then she was famous for tearing others apart
A love Shattered
Dahlia
Her name meant date, an oasis fruit some love and some hate
There may have been sweetness at the start
But then she was caught stealing from other’s carts
A love Defeated
Violet
Her name mean modest, but she wasn’t modest if I’m to be honest
There may have been humbleness at the start
But then she changed so abruptly, elaborately and excessively, away she’d dart
A love Interrupted
Willow
Her name meant graceful, but her grace was closer to fateful
There may have been elegance of body at the start
But then she would silently leave, so quickly depart
A love Failed
Jasmine
Her name meant flower, but after climbing her tower, you’d have to scour
There may have been pure white beauty at the start
But then you saw the inside, swine of spare parts
A love Tormented
Lily
Her name meant innocence but she was closer to insolence
There may have been childlike perfection at the start
But then you’d see you shine wasn’t diamond, it was quartz
A love Deceived
