Atonement
We have no hope, yet we live longing
We feel ourselves sinking
But rock bottom is a solid base
On which we all can stand
There is no time for us
To practice resurrection
Searching for something familiar
We look to mercy knowing
The corners of the fields
Are left for the poor to glean
Clinging to some semblance of faith
Leaning not on our own understanding
We need no rooster reminder
That we have sinned
The double minded are unstable
We have no hope without Him,
Yet we live longing
We dare not join the ranks of the perishing
Instead we consider all things well
That we might judge with righteous judgment
Knowing that the lesser of two evils is still evil
And doctrine is the point of departure
We feel ourselves sinking
But rock bottom is a solid base
On which we all can stand
There is no time for us
To practice resurrection
Searching for something familiar
We look to mercy knowing
The corners of the fields
Are left for the poor to glean
Clinging to some semblance of faith
Leaning not on our own understanding
We need no rooster reminder
That we have sinned
The double minded are unstable
We have no hope without Him,
Yet we live longing
We dare not join the ranks of the perishing
Instead we consider all things well
That we might judge with righteous judgment
Knowing that the lesser of two evils is still evil
And doctrine is the point of departure
