Tired Insight

Sometimes our brains hide from us
the very memories we need to confront
in order to learn and grow from them

Worst still than the injustices against us
are the lies we tell ourselves to hide
and absolve our true participation in

Real truth often leaves me feeling like
the useless pulp remaining after grapes
are raped of their juices to make wine

My whole life has led to this point
where I am reduced to the mess left over
after the party and everyone's gone home
