My Life on the Moon
Life is lonely
In the quiet vacuum
Of outer space
Family and friends,
Acquaintances and
Strangers drift
In and out of my life
While I am left
Standing on the surface
Of the moon,
Silent and cold
Surrounded by
Black atmosphere
I feel weightless
When I see the one I love,
I smile and beckon her
With out-stretched arms
Then I watch her
Get smaller and smaller
As she gently floats away
Followed by my tears
In the quiet vacuum
Of outer space
Family and friends,
Acquaintances and
Strangers drift
In and out of my life
While I am left
Standing on the surface
Of the moon,
Silent and cold
Surrounded by
Black atmosphere
I feel weightless
When I see the one I love,
I smile and beckon her
With out-stretched arms
Then I watch her
Get smaller and smaller
As she gently floats away
Followed by my tears
