I enjoyed the metaphorical nature of this Paul. In addition to the literal, there's an undertone of not seeming satisfied with one's lot. Desiring instead the bright lights and neon signs of something bigger.

also the reality of many a country towns, abandoned by the yout(for various reasons) but majority of the times the underpinning reason- the apathy of the ruling elite towards what makes a country, country! succinct, poignant the ink.

you would need planning permission and a risk assessment before changing your uses to that of any kind of town :-p
