Destination Within
We are all here but never there.
Satisfaction guranteed? You shall all beware! What is happiness?
Is it a thing?
Is it a place?
Does it exist?
Is it a goal?
No! Its a state of mind!
Is it half or is it whole?
Who else cares?
Its a journey, its a quest, Its a joyride with or without a guest.
Forget the hang ups, forget the conventions.
It is you and only you, short or tall, rich or poor, smart or simple its all perception.
So I say to you all.. go swipe left or swipe right, go run in the fields, go trek in the mud, go play in sand.
What makes this world are the thinkers, tinkerers and the workers alike.
So ask yourself...what is here?
And maybe you will realize that you are already there.

You asked the question of whether or not happiness exists and I found myself at a loss for words because I just don't know the answer. I have been searching for a while and I have yet too find it. let me know if you do. :)

Thank you for your feedback. It is definitely subjective as we all have different values and outlooks in life, meanings and experiences. I personally feel that society tries too hard to quantify happiness by accomplishment, material being, a final destination. However, it is not a permanant state of mind and the journey is comprised with a series of happinesses that makes you who you are. Whats more important is the question itself, so don’t ever lose hope.

You think, "is this about consumerism or personal things?" Yet, everything we consume for ourselves we want for happiness to slow down the immense pain we encounter everyday in life. Consumption is a motivating factor for reducing pain. So, we must reject the search of pleasure for the search of - being- which is very anti capitalistic but very important and necessary. Coping with pain and distractions can be attained if we stop and breathe. AKA- loved the poem. (^_^)
