The Murderer's Song
She whispered, "I am sorry. Did I say something wrong?"
The man grabbed his victim
And laughed at her as he snapped her neck
He turned around and whistled his goodbye song.
He loved that jingle, that damn, ole death song
Every one of those bitches had said that same old line
Did I say something, do something wrong?
Too bad his daddy was dead
The old man would be so proud
Tears streamed down the man's face as he remembered how mean he had been and what he had said.
Growing up, his mama had died
His daddy had made him pay for that
Each night was hell as he would wallop the boy until he cried.
Now, he vowed that he would get even
His mama should not have died!
She had left him to deal with the price of her leavin'.
Deep down, the murderer knew that his mama had died of cancer
It was just the way that his daddy had dealt with the heartbreak
His beautiful bride, his love, the dancer.
Each time he killed, he whistled the song that she had loved
For he knew that it wasn't truly his mama's fault
He had lived a lifetime without her but he knew she was in Heaven above,
The man grabbed his victim
